I didn’t even think about showing everyone how to manually complete link exchanges and I am so sorry about that!  I was just showing you what I do now and just didn’t even think to include the manual method

To complete link exchanges manually, you need to go to Google and complete a search to find sites that complete link exchanges already… don’t contact people asking them to set up a link exchange if it doesn’t already appear that they do that as it takes more time and energy on your part so stick with sites that already do this. 

When completing searches within Google, simply type something like “YOUR MARKET exchange links” or “YOUR MARKET reciprocal links”  This will bring up thousands, possibly millions, of sites that you can begin exchanging links with. 

Here are the steps to complete the exchange:

1. You will need to go to the sites individually and fill in the form they have available.  This will usually include your name and email address and your link information (anchor text and description).  
2. Take the information they want you to use to link to them (their anchor text and description) and place it on your links page. 
3. Upload your page again to have the new information available (so they can verify that you have placed a link to their site on your site).  
4. Submit the form for the link information on the sites page.  
5. Repeat for every website you want to exchange links with. 

This process, to get 250 reciprocal links (how many links you get with 3waylinks), will take you at least 15 - 20 hours of repeating the above steps.  You will most likely need to submit this information to at least 400 - 500 sites to get the 250 links.  This is because many sites will either refuse the link or will not respond to your request.  Whereas within the 3waylinks network it takes 10 minutes and you are guaranteed 250 links.  Again, time vs. money… where are you right now?

Today I am going to start a series on the details for the items I work on everyday of the work week. I am going to go through this starting with Monday going through to Friday with each day being at least one separate post. My goal is to make this series very informative and helpful for your business! If you have any questions/comments along the way, please don’t hesitate to leave comments on any of the posts!

Mondays are my one big “creation” day. Sure, I “create” articles on Tuesdays, but that isn’t completely creation in my mind… we’ll get into details about this with my Tuesday post For now, just keep in mind that I am in creation mode on Mondays. I spend my time creating a new site and then I also submit my site from the previous week to a service called 3waylinks.

The first thing I do is, I go to Clickbank and choose my product. Then I create my video for my new Video Cash Explosion site. My last step for this is to create my site, including completing keyword research and uploading the site using the Push Button Video Cash software.

My next step for Mondays is to submit the site I completed the previous week to the 3waylinks network. There are two things I want to mention up front regarding this service:

1. When I first started these sites, I used the free methods for promotion that I teach in the Video Cash Explosion system. But as I started making money and to free up some of my time, I started utilizing some paid services to help me achieve results faster and with less work time on my part. 3waylinks is hands down the most important promotional method I use for promoting my sites.
2. 3waylinks is a link building service that replaces manually going out and finding link partners because everything is automatic and it also means that you will not have reciprocal links (which the search engines don’t like as well) with other sites but instead will have links that are completed 3 ways, therefore making them seem more like one-way links (the best kind to have).

So, the reason I wait a week to submit a new site to 3waylinks is because you must have 2 pages indexed within Google before your site will be accepted within the 3waylinks network.  By waiting a week, you have given yourself time for the Google “spiders” to come crawl your website and index the homepage and also the privacy and/or disclaimer pages. Therefore you now have the 2 needed pages indexed in order for the site to be placed within the network.

Aside from the things I listed above (3-way link vs. reciprocal link), I also love using this system because of how it automates the entire link building process. You have to complete about 10 minutes worth of work to submit the site within the 3way links network (they give full training on how to do this), but once accepted, everything is done for you. It is a set it and forget it system that frees up a lot of time for you. What takes you 10 minutes to complete with 3waylinks, would take you probably a minimum of 15 - 20 hours of work manually. So this comes down to what you have more of… time or money. The manual method works as long as you work it, but yes, 3waylinks makes it easier and better.

That is my Monday. Create a site, submit last week’s site to 3waylinks. This takes me an average of 3 - 3 1/2 hours to complete. I am going to be closely monitoring the site I completed this week and use it as a case study to show you guys how the site progresses so you have a good idea on what it takes to get a site profitable :)

I’ve had several people ask me what my daily schedule looks like… so I decided to create a post to show you what I am up do with my business

A daily schedule is a bit difficult for me show… because it changes every week based on my boys’ schedule. But on average, I work my business 15 hours a week by working 5 days a week.

Here is an example week for me:

This is a rough estimate on how I work my week. If I am in product creation mode, then I work more hours and cut way back on my promotional items. Same thing if I am launching or have just launched a product. But, a normal week has me creating 1 new video cash explosion site from start to finish and then the beginning stages of promoting it, as well as promoting all my sites.

As you can see from this, approximately 70% - 80% of my time is spent doing promotional work! Not only am I doing promotional work, but I am completing promotional work consistently. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again

Consistency is the key to my success!!!

I complete helpdesk support everyday that I am in front of my computer (my first priority these days is making sure my customers are getting what they need). I only spend about 3 hours a week in creation mode, but about 12 hours a week in promotion mode and this is what gets and keeps my sites on the top of the search engines for my chosen phrases week after week, month after month.

Another thing you’ll notice from my table above is that I use various services for my promotional methods. When I was first starting out, I did all of this the free way… in other words, I spent a lot of time on it, doing everything manually. After I started seeing some pretty good money coming in, I knew there were easier ways so I started implementing these services. All of these services are listed on the right side of this blog under the “recommended” section.

My plan over the next month is going to be to go over my various promotional methods and explain how the free version works vs. the paid version so you can see for yourself what you should be doing. Because once you have chosen your keyword phrases and have built your site… you MUST consistently promote your site(s)… that’s the bottom line

Hello Everyone!

Wow… I had a reader point out to me that this blog is now 1-year old. How did that happen? Where did the time go? I am amazed that it has been that long since I started this little, helpful tips blog that no one knew of. I started it out of a recommendation from my coach at the time and thought, “I’ll do it because I’m being told to, but who is going to listen or even care what I have to say?” What a difference a year can make!

Sure I don’t give as many helpful tips and tricks as I’d like to give here, but even with what I do for this blog I now have more than 5000 followers that actually do want to know how I can help them with their business. That is absolutely amazing!

My life has changed dramatically over the last year and yes, it started with this blog I was someone who was struggling to make about $500/month, with no intetions, in fact scared to death, of creating my own product and not feeling like I could help other people.

Now, I earn more than $10,000/month, have 2 products of my own with another in the idea stage, and I do believe I have things I can offer people, ways I can help them start making an income online! And wow, most amazingly of all… selling our house and moving more than 3000 miles to our dream destination!!! We accepted an offer last Friday and will be heading out next month!!!

I guess why I decided to complete this post, is to let everyone know that you can make it! You can become successful! You can do this!

What are you looking to do? Do you want some extra spending cash? Are you simply looking for enough to cover your car payment(s) or your mortgage/rent? Or do you want to make more? $2000/month? $3000? Maybe $5000/month or more?

I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again… you need to either set up a system yourself, or take the easier route and follow a system created by someone who is doing it and is successful with it! Once you have figured out what system you are going to follow, then you need to make sure. Wait, I need to make sure you get this point, so…

MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE TREATING THIS LIKE A BUSINESS AND COMPLETING ACTIVITIES TO MOVE YOUR BUSINESS FORWARD ON A CONSISTENT BASIS!!!

This is so important… you must treat it like a business and set up a schedule… whatever that is for you! It could be 3 hours/day, 5 days a week or 2 hours/day, 3 days a week, or 4 hours 2 days/week and 2 hours one day/week. Whatever you can set up, set it up and then work on activities that will move your business forward (not dilly-dallying stuff). Things like building your site, writing articles, making helful, useful blog comments on other people’s blogs. Don’t read email for 2 hours or search a new business model all the time.

Find a system, work it consistently, never give up!!!

It is this plan that finally got me to more than $10,000/month in less than 1-year! Follow it! If you have a system in place, utilize it!!! If you need one, find one from someone you can trust and will help you through it, someone who is following the system themselves and is successful with it. You can take a look at my two products (Video Cash Explosion or Easy Video Reviews) to get a system or find one from someone else, but find a system and start working it, never giving up!!!

One of my readers kindly mentioned that they would like to know what plugins I use and find helpful for this blog (a wordpress blog). Well, I’ve tried many, many, many plugins for this blog. Unfortunately most of them don’t ultimately do what I want or need so I delete them. But there are 2 plugins in particular that I will not live without!

1. Akismet - This plugin is designed to check all comments on your blog as they come in and determine whether they are spam or not.  Wow… this one is amazing and I don’t think any blog should be without it.  I don’t have to wade through all my comments to find the good ones, this plugin does it for me.  All I do is go in and review the ones Askimet finds to be spam and delete them.  Yes, every once in a while a spam comment does get through and sometimes a real comment goes to the spam section.  But this is VERY rare.  And makes my job of simply approving real comments so much easier.  You will need a WordPress.com API key to use it, but that is easy to get.

2. All in One SEO Pack - This is a cool little plugin that allows you to create each page within your blog so that it is optimised for the search engines.  You can change/add your meta tags… title, keywords, and description.  This means that now each page within your blog can be search engine optimized for your chosen keywords… that is amazing and VERY, VERY, VERY easy to do!

Like I said there are many, many more plugins available… some are good, some are not.  But these are the two that I do not go without.  If you have one (or more) that you love, please let us know about it!

Slow and steady just seems the logical way. But there are questions which is why I’m posting here, such as how long does one give a web site to show potential before moving on to a new option. In other words not every market is going to work, wrong keywords, seasonal product, poor message what ever. Do you have any rules on when to cut out a bad site and not waste any more time on it? And how many web sites did it take you to create a full time income? Obviously every situation will be different but I’m curious. Thanks, in this age of the fast buck you seem so genuine and caring.”

First, thank you, I do hope that these articles that I post for everyone are informative and helpful to all of your businesses :) 

When following a system, such as my Video Cash Explosion system, I highly recommend that you create at least 5 sites, but personally I prefer 10.  I know this may seem like a lot, but after your first couple it does become easier and faster to do.  The reason I recommend this many is because if you have a couple that don’t create an income for you or maybe a very small income (say $50 - $100/month), it will be ok because you have not placed all your “eggs” in just one website… so to speak

Now, to answer the question on how long I give a site to show potential, that can be a bit of a gray area.  But, if you are following my SEO advice from either my SEO Techniques guide or from Video Cash Explosion, then I really feel you must give these techniques up to 3 months to really know what they may or may not do in the search engines.  This is a “standard” rule for any website you create.  However, because all websites and all niches are not created equally, this is not always the case.  Some websites will show up and stay on page 1 of Google within a week or two and others will take almost 6 months to get there (although those are rare). 

I guess I’m trying to point out that if you do the work up front, the only thing that is required after that should only take about an hour a month per website in maintenance.  So, if you have some spare time when in maintenance mode, then promote whichever website you want to promote.  I have NEVER found a site that doesn’t make me any money at all… yes, some are VERY small amounts ($50 -$100/month), but even they are worth promoting for me every once in a while :) 

What is more important to think about with a site is choosing the correct keyword phrases.  When you choose the correct phrases for the site, then it will bring in some money.  And, it is easier (most of the time) to play around with your keyword phrases than it is to create a whole new website and completely forget about the old site. 

This is what I do, but if you would prefer to dump a site completely and move onto something else, then do that… it is your business and you need to do what you are comfortable, but I would still give the site at least 3 - 4 months to give it a fair chance

When I realized that by following my Video Cash Explosion I was going to make money with my sites, I immediately created 10 of them.  So, could you make a full-time income with less than that… possibly, but I don’t know for sure.  I do know that with 10 sites, in 10 different niches, I was able to create a full-time income.

Writing articles for your websites… it is absolutely neccessary to do… no question, it is a must!!! Writing articles and submitting those articles to the various article directories will help your business grow, on a consistent basis, more than just about any other promotional method I know of. Yes, there are other methods that are great at getting one-shot, quick boost, traffic, but a steady business flow thanks to great search engine placement comes from getting a lot of one-way links from authority websites… such as article directories.

If your website is about something you are passionate about then writing articles for that subject is fairly easy to do. Take this blog for example… I have no problem writing for this blog once I know what I am going to write about. The words simply flow together and before I know it, I have written about 400 - 500 words on the subject and wow, I have an article for you to read and benefit from

On the other hand, if you have a review site up that needs some articles written and it is a subject you are familiar with, but don’t quite feel like the expert (that is why you are an affiliate and not the product owner), then writing an article can be tedious, boring, agonizing, frustrating, etc., etc., etc. For example, I have a review site on yoga. I like yoga, I like the product because it taught me yoga very well and made it easy to understand and implement, but I’m not an expert on yoga and when I try to think about writing an article around the subject, my mind just starts spinning. For the life of me, I struggle to find the words that need to come together to complete a nice, informational article.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t sell the product to others… you love the product, it helped you and yes, you should recommend it to others. But it does mean that you just may struggle with writing those articles you so desperately need to write!

One of the things I have done in the past to help me with this process is to complete a search, using the keywords that revolve around the article I want to write. Then I look through the first few pages of results to get the inspiration I need to write an article. This method is free… Yay!!! But can take some time to complete

For almost a year now I have been using a program to help me write my articles. This little program goes out and finds information around your chosen keywords and gives you results to create a good little article. Once you have the information, you must play around with it a little bit so that you aren’t just copying other people’s work, but this cuts your time down to about 10 - 15 minutes to write an article… YAY! Of course since it is a program, it is going to cost a little bit of money, but the best thing is that you can try it for the first 30 days for only $7… yes, $7!!!

You know you need to be writing articles. It is a must for your business! So, you can either spend your time, searching the search engines and developing an article (takes about 1 - 2 hours to do) or you can have a software progam do the work for you and complete the article very fast, but pay to use the software program… the choice is yours
