I had every intention of giving you some steps on getting started in your online business this week but mother nature had other ideas…

I woke up to a LOUD thud and the whole house shaking about 5:45 am Wednesday morning. I got up and couldn’t figure out what happened… then I looked out my back bathroom window to find that my amazing absolutely gorgeous Maple tree had broken and fallen onto my garage (which is attached to the house). We are talking a one foot in diameter branch that was about 25 - 30 feet high was now on top of my garage and had taken my phone line and power lines with it. We had a snow storm that brought in 8 inches of very wet, extremely heavy snow… it caused a big mess all over and more than 5000 people ended up without power so I just got my power back today.. about 3 hours ago. I’m very grateful that that was the worst of it and it is gone now… my tree is still amazing, just missing a piece and we are all ok… now maybe some of the people in the midwest can get some of this sun we got today to help them out and get those people back in their homes!

Ok, now that you know where I was the last 3 days, let’s move on to what you need to know…

You should have picked out your product by now and you should know quite a bit about it either through reading the sales letter or through purchasing the product yourself. Now you need to get a domain name so that you can promote the product without having to use the obvious and annoying Clickbank affiliate link.

Where you purchase the domain name from doesn’t really matter. I have found 1and1 to be the cheapest at $6.99/year (as of writing this). So head on over to http://www.1and1.com and get yourself a domain name. Think about your product and pick something that is in theme with that.

Once you have purchased your domain name you will want to log into your admin area (using the information 1and1 sends to your email account) and change your settings so that the domain name forwards to your Clickbank affiliate link. If you don’t know how to do this, simply call 1and1’s support and they will walk you through it… in fact if you don’t know how to purchase a domain name you can contact them and they help you over the phone to get it.

Good luck and remember to think about the name you are using and try to keep it to 2 - 4 words if you can… the shorter the better.
