The Golden Thread Case Study After One Month Total Profit…

It has officially been one month since I implemented my cash cannon video on my baby niche site and I have tallied all the numbers.  Drum roll please :)

Natural Search Engine Traffic Numbers (for the month):

Total website visits = 541
Total clicks from my site to the affiliate sales site = 172
Clickthru Rate (172/541)= 32%
Total sales = 28
Clicks from my site to sale Rate (28/172) = 16.3%
Total visitors to sale rate (28/541)= 5.2%

Let’s really look at these numbers for a minute…

I only had 541 visitors to my site for the month that we completed the case study… this is not very much traffic at all… you can learn how to get that many visitors to your site within the first 6 weeks (if not sooner) of your site going live… yes I can teach how to simply implement a traffic strategy that will get you that much traffic quickly (most likely more). 

My clickthru rate from my site to the affiliate product I am promoting is at 32%… This is a huge amount of people that are intriqued enough with what they heard and saw on my site to then click onto the product to take a closer look.  Prior to implementing my cash cannon this number stood at about 13%… which I was happy with, but the cash cannon has more than doubled my clickthru rate! 

More importantly is that once people are on the product page, just over 16% of them are buying the product… 16%!!!  So not only is my cash cannon page intriquing people enough to take a look at the product, it is preselling them to buy… at a huge 16% rate! 

Lastly my overall traffic to sale rate is at 5.2%… for anyone that has sold products before, you know that this one is out of the park… I sell a baby niche product to 5.2% of the people that come to my website… these are complete strangers, I have no relationship with them whatsoever… none!  They come to my cash cannon page, clickthru to the affiliate product and buy… I just can’t describe in words how big this number truly is!

So for a small amount of natural search engine traffic… only 18 visitors/day… I am now earning more than $700 a month on one baby niche site. 

But (and here is the fun part), that is not all… we haven’t looked at the final Google Adwords numbers have we!

Google Adwords Traffic (for the month): 

Total website visits = 488
Total clicks from my site to the affiliate sales site = 166
Clickthru Rate (166/488)= 34%
Total sales = 36
Clicks from my site to sale Rate (36/166) = 22%
Total visitors to sale rate (36/488)= 7.4%

Yes, you are looking at this correctly… the numbers are actually higher for the Adwords traffic.  I am no Adwords expert, but I am assuming that the reason these numbers are a little higher is because the people that click on these ads realize that I am selling a product before they click on the ad whereas the people that click within the search engine natural traffic might think they are going simply to an informational site.  This is my assumption and like I said I am no Adwords expert, all I know is that cash cannons actually work better with Adwords ads than natural search engine traffic does and that is huge!!!  On the flip side I have to pay for the ads so it cuts my profit almost in half for these sales, but it absolutely worth it to get the offer in front of this many more people. 

I don’t know if you have realized it or not, but combining all my sales together means that I am earning more than $1100/month… $1163.44 (to be exact)!!!  I ended up more than $100 higher than Michael and I guessed after 3 weeks!  This is so huge.  I want you to really go back an look at these numbers, study them, realize what they could mean for you and your website(s) but more importantly what they could mean to your business and your family!

Your numbers look great, and yes I have to read them over a few times before I can really understand or realise the actual results you have acheived.

I am very interested in Michaels new product and belong to his email list but I think it may be wize to wait until you start to market it before I buy!

I hope I am getting the right thing across to people when I post these numbers… the best thing about cash cannons is that it finally levels out the playing field… quite a bit anyway… because you don’t need 1000’s of visitors to make a profit…Wow!

You mentioned Adwords traffic, though, and now I’m left to wonder what is your net profit? I’m assuming the $1163.44 is gross profit. What has it cost you to make this money?

Thank you… Michael premiered me first because of the niche I am in and the fact that it really can work within niches outside of internet marketing. He does have some pretty cool case study’s coming up though.

Actually you’re assumption is wrong… the profit I list for Adwords is net… so my net profit is $1163.44. I earned approximately $917 from my Adwords campaign, spent about $467, leaving me with a net profit of $450. Then you add the $450 to the $763.44 I earned through natural search engine traffic means my net profit is $1163.44.

I set this site up for a friend to try and see if it could make him some cash. His business sorta fell apart when his partner did some not so cool dealings.

He’s got a small son & wife so he had to go back to the 9 to 5 deal. But I didn’t want him to miss out on his dream. So I kept up his website (it’s over 2yrs old) and I just finished putting in a couple of affiliate puzzle pieces that I thought could help him out.

I added ebay, amazon, adsense, clickbank and shareasale links. But I still feel that I need to do something more. I also am not an internet marketer. I’m an author and designer by trade.

I just wanted to help out a friend. Could you tell me what it is I just know I’m missing? I feel it, but I just can’t see it. I’d appreciate the help…since I want to do one of these for myself, with books of course.

Hi Starr,

If the site you are talking about is the one you entered into the “website” form when you completed your comment… then after just a quick look a couple of suggestions I have for you is to first complete some keyword research and on page optimization. Make sure you place your chosen keyword phrases in the “title” portion of the “head” section within the page and also within the page itself. This alone will help get more traffic to the site once the search engines spider the page.

Once things slow down a little bit (with the Cash Cannon promotion stuff), I will be asking people to post comments on this blog stating what kinds of things they’d like me to write about… I expect on page optimization and traffic generation to be a top priority for many people so I’ll be posting about that stuff I’m sure.

Make sure you sign up for my blog notification list so that when I start asking people what it is they would like to learn about that you are notified so you can chime in.

Oh for pete’s sake! :::smacks self with palm to forehead:::

I can’t believe I forgot to do that! I’ve been a web designer for years, you think I’d remember to do my SEO before uploading it. ugh!

I was just so darn glad that I got the whole thing put together right that I spaced on the basics. It was the first time I put all those elements together.

I don’t know his niche well though so I’m needing his help with that, we’re meeting this afternoon.

My other site I’m working on is at http://www.starr-gate.com/stores/gamezone and it’s simular to the health one but in a niche I know more about.

Trouble is staying up all night till 8am isn’t helping me remember the simple stuff I know. I’ll have to go back over the sites after all the pieces are fitted together.

I’m also thinking about doing a blog to link the site too, to drive traffic from there to the site. The Wordpress Direct site looks promising. I’ve got too many blogs to keep updating already…lol This could be a big help with that!

I fully understand where you are right now… I have been online for more than 5 years and while I am one of the lucky ones that could say I did actually earn some money (my average was always between $400 - $700/month), I still kept dreaming about those numbers that could change our family.

I guess I want you to know that I have struggled myself, kicked myself wondering why I just couldn’t make it, wondering what I was doing wrong. But I kept going, I’ve never given up. I have worked very hard for a long time and have finally found a way to do this, to change our lives, and for a change it is coming a lot easier.

So, keep going… keep working to free yourself and your family… it will come! You will get there… I hope I am somehow able to help you!

Congratulatios!! It’s hard for many of us to start earning real cash on the internet. After years of buying and reading and trying all the emarketing ebooks and prgrams, I came back to a theme blog since finding an interview about a guy who is making $50,000 dlls with a gadget blog just with adsense after 3 years. I think the trick is to investigate on what niche we can compete with that it’s not too saturated nless w can do it better than the ones in first lace on google. I made mine on photography, since I’m a potographer and it has appeared on the first page in some of the keywords but I think I need more help. Any tips for blogs? Is this a Wordpress blog? If it is you need to install a plugin known as “All in one SEO pack” and for every post you make place your keywords for that post in the “title” section.

That simple step should help alot!

I started a Wordpress blog and the “5 minute setup” took 5 weeks. I have a habit of hitting every technical problem imagineable which has probably been the number 1 reason why I never seem to get anywhere. Funny thing is that I’m a lot better at this sort of thing than most people I know in real (offline) life!

Wordpress is very fiddly - just look at the huge number of posts on their support forums to see that people struggle greatly.

So that no one else suffers for days when setting up their WP blog: you need to turn the cache ability off otherwise everytime you try to view changes they do not show up (well, some do, it’s sort fo weird).

I’m not sure blogging is something I want to do though, what with the tech problems and the time needed to update the content regularly (I’m talking about articles etc. rather than just posts such as this site) I am not sure it is worthwhile.

I got myself a 1000+ qualified hits in the first month and no comments and no sign ups. lol.
