My Golden Thread Bonus…

I was looking forward to seeing what the GoldenThread was like. Alas, it is way out of my budget.

I don’t expect marketers to work for nothing, but it is disappointing when they make appeals to those who are struggling financially (even referencing their own broke/in debt past life) and then expect them to magic up $2000 from somewhere. If I had that kind of disposable cash I probably would not be looking to make money online.

And why is it always internet marketing? I want to see an internet guru who has made his success in selling toys or something…

OK, moan over :)

Shannon, great site. Really like your story because it was about something other than internet marketing and was very real.

My perennial problem with making money online is that I really have no knowledge, qualifications, experience or products that are saleable.

Hello Darren,

I understand your frustration… I’ve been there… for years :(

But I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I know everyone has the ability to become successful… I’m not saying a millionaire… but successful!!! I will be offering a lot of free, helpful information on this blog in the coming months. Continue to read and learn and most importantly, implement!

Also, keep in mind that I have made most every penny that I have ever made in markets outside of internet marketing, so I will be teaching others how to do this too ;)

Thanks for the reply, Shannon. I’ve added this site as a tab in my Opera browser!

However, I’m going to be in debt in about 2-3 months based on my present circumstances and so I shall have to do a lot of thinking and a lot of learning - and fast.

p.s. what blog setup do you have? I am trying Wordpress but it’s 5-minute set up took me 5 weeks and I still cannot understand the half of it.

Quick question… There is no baby niche product at clickbank that pays out at $25.48 per sale… Yet you say that the sales made that are shown on Cheney’s site are in a baby niche… What’s the deal?

Hi Kevin,

After completing a search on Clickbank myself, you are right that they don’t show any products that earn that. I love the little ways people go about trying to find out the product and this one was clever :)

However, if you have ever sold anything on Clickbank and compared your commission to the one they show as the commission in the marketplace, it is never the same… I think they must do some market adjustments to give you an estimate on that page. Adjusting for things such as returns. This is all I can come up with anyway, if someone else knows the reason why this happens, please let us know :)

I did a search for that baby web site but all I could find was a site about hypoglycemia and numerous articles on ear infections in dogs…

I was also thinking of writing to Cheney to tell him that “cannons” is not the plural of cannon :)

You are right about cannon… the plural is cannon… I hadn’t thought about it I guess :)

You can do a search and yes, those are the kinds of articles I wrote in the past (a couple of years ago when I was newer to this online thing). I’ve never written any articles for the baby site. I’m almost ashamed to say that I’ve never promoted it via articles and yet still I have been able to get top placement in the search engines… this is because it is not a very competitive niche within the baby niche.

That is interesting… of the 25 or so different products I sell on Clickbank, only 2 of them show in the Marketplace as the same commission that I actually earn.

Are you being sneaky Kevin… maybe that’s me :)
