Staying Within Your Passion

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a little story that I would like to share with you today… one that will help your business go a long, long way :)

As most people know, I have 2 young boys (6 and 4) and because of what I do online to make money, my husband and myself are now able to spend a lot of time with these two amazing boys every day.  I have really been watching them, paying attention to them lately and I see something happening that can happen for every one of you as well!

My boys, Riley and Tanner are best friends, but VERY different in many ways.  For instance, Riley is my analytical… loves trains, building tracks and legos, math, creating and making things, etc.  Tanner on the other hand loves living things… all living things!  He loves animals and reptiles and bugs.

Riley and Tanner are very good boys, but they are 4 and 6 and yes, they get into trouble sometimes.  They don’t always follow the rules… imagine that :)  Anyway, we were having a hard time getting Tanner (the 4-year old) to listen about a week ago.  He was being loud, playing with his food at dinner, taking food off of Riley’s plate just to upset him.  All in all, just a naughty boy (yes he was tired, but that is an interesting part of the story as well)!!!  A couple of nights before this, I had gone for a little walk after getting the boys in bed and had seen some toads.  Knowing that the boys, but specifically Tanner, would want to see them I had told them we could go out before bed one evening and find them again.  This night when Tanner was being so naughty was going to be the night that we went out, but since Tanner was so tired I was thinking of waiting until the next night.  Here is what happened next…

First though, you have to fully understand how much Tanner loves these things to appreciate how this story relates to your life and your business!  Tanner is the happiest I EVER SEEN him when he has some type of creature in his hands, period!  Without question, this is his passion!!!

I told Tanner at the dinner table that since he was being naughty and was so tired we were going to wait to go find some toads.  “No, mom, no… I’m not tired.  I’ll eat my dinner”  Well, we didn’t hear one single peep out of him, he sat there and just ate his dinner, placed his dishes in the sink, washed his hands and face then sat on the couch waiting for us.  After cleaning up, I asked him if we should just get ready for bed and he said, “no mom, I’m not tired, lets go look for toads.”  Since he had been so good and waited patiently, we went and both boys had a blast, but Tanner is priceless!!!  He’s sees a toad for the first time in his life, walks right up to it and just grabs it… no hesitation whatsoever!  Riley likes to go hunting for the reptiles and bugs too… but nothing like Tanner!   We ran around for half and hour searching for toads, picking them up and holding them.  We all had at least one in our hands at one point.  In fact, Tanner had one in his hand, spots another, runs up to grab it, spots another, hands me one of his two and grabs the third one… Yes, this is his passion.

Do you notice how he went from naughty, not doing what he was suppose to be doing and very tired to getting things done, doing what he needed to do and then getting a second wind that carried him on for another hour or more?

Why did this happen???

Because as human beings, it is just human nature that we will do whatever we need to do to ultimately get to our passion!!!  If we have a VERY STRONG outcome (our passion) that we are shooting for and we always keep that in the foreground of our minds, then we will absolutely, positively do whatever it takes to get there.

In this life and in business, you must know and fully understand and feel deep down in your bones what your passion is… or another way to put it is, What is your “why?”  Why do you want to make money online, what motivates you?  What are you trying to accomplish?  And don’t just say something, FEEL IT!  Feel it the way Tanner feels it when he knows he is going to go searching for geckos and snails and toads!!!  Really feel how your why would make you feel once you get there.  As children we did this all the time and then we grew up and stopped imagining the passion, the why… bring out your inner 4-year-old and discover what this is for you and really concentrate on it!  That is how you will succeed when you don’t like completing the tasks for your business, when you are too tired to complete the work, when you just don’t feel like… take five minutes to concentrate on your passion and you will be motivated to get more work done EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

Best Wishes,
Shannon

That is a wonderful story. My boys are grown but I sure miss those times. That was very motivating and I am already checking out my “why” and see if it is strong enough to
keep plugging away until I can quit my J.O.B.!

Thanks again for the great story. Becky
