I haven’t done much work in the last week or so, not much at all!  Basically, I have answered some questions and worked on my software programs with my programmer… him doing the work of course And that is it.  I have worked “maybe” 3 hours this week. 

I spent the time with my family!!!  Our oldest son’s end of the year play was last week (Jack and the Beanstalk, he was the little man that gave Jack the beans) and then an end of the year picnic yesterday.  We’ve also spent time at the beach, hiking central maui, snorkeling all over, sight-seeing, watching a blow-hole on the west side of the island and swimming in some very cool natural pools,  spending an afternoon on a catamaran cruise and tomorrow, we are going camping on Haleakala!  It has been (and continues to be) an amazing week!

Why am I telling you this???

Because I want you to understand what having a successful, profitable home-based, online, business can mean to you!!!  We didn’t go on a vacation, visit an exotic land, but we enjoyed our time. We have been exploring the land around us and just had fun together.

Yes, the vacations are fun and exciting, yes the toys and extra goodies are nice… but it is about the time you gain back. The time that you now get to do with as you please! The time that allows you to simply relax! The time that allows you to enjoy your spouse, your kids, your dogs (or cats) or just yourself! The time that is yours again… that is the most special aspect to having a successful home-based business!!!

I can do this, I can work when I want to work and relax when I want to relax because I have put in the time to create a solid foundation that will stay strong, even when I don’t work it!!! I have worked this business consistently so when I want to take some time off, I can!!! When we moved to Hawaii last year… I took almost a month off and it didn’t affect my business in anyway!!! Later this year when the baby is born I plan to take time off and again, it won’t hurt anything with regards to my business!!! I will be spending the summer with my family, relaxing, enjoying the time and working in “maintenance mode” only and my business won’t be affected!!!

You can do this too!!! I know you can!!! I know it is possible for you to build a solid foundation and grow from it!!! There is not a doubt in my mind! But, two things do have to happen first… you must remove the doubt from your mind and you MUST be committed to moving forward, building your business, on a consistent basis… YOU MUST DO THESE TWO THINGS!!!

When I say “be consistent” that means that you are continually working on building your business. Everyday, 5 days a week, 3 days a week, 8 hours, 10 hours 15 hours or more… whatever you have available, whatever you can schedule in… do it!!! And during those times, don’t search the internet, don’t read emails, don’t get on Facebook or Twitter and don’t answer phone calls. Spend this time moving your business forward and I know you will succeed…. Commit to your success and it will happen for you!!!

Rembemer, I make 86% of my yearly income from video affiliate review type sites… only 9% comes from adsense and then ONLY 5% from my blog and my products… so, it is not about selling your own products, it does not have to be!!!

I have had this question asked to me about 20 times in the last 24 hours… makes perfect sense considering the offer I have put together for you

The FTC set up their new guidelines to protect consumers from scams.  Unfortunately so many people make outlandish claims when it comes to trying to sell their products/services.  Even when the claims are true, often times, the couple are so completely outside the norm that the average person is simply not going to be able to reach. 

So, when I’m creating review sites, how do I make sure I am following the FTC guideline?  I place a statement on my site that acts as a disclaimer.  Yes, most everyone has used a disclaimer page for years now, but now a quick disclaimer type statement should be made directly with your recommendation to stay in line with the new guidelines. 

Here are a couple of variations I have used:

“The good folks at the FTC require me to disclose that I am an affiliate for the Simple Writing System and that John Carlton will compensate me if you purchase this system. I have reviewed this system and give it my highest recommendation.”

or

“The results I am talking about with this review may not be typical.  Your results may be better or worse since it comes down to many factors, including how you implement the information given.  I personally give it my highest recommendation and here’s why…”

With my Video Cash Explosion sites I place this statement directly under my video review.  On a blog, I have typically placed it along the top of the blog. 

One thing that is cool, is it is VERY easy to add this statement to the 14 Complete Video Review Package  I am offering right now and it is EXTREMELY easy to add it when you have my Video Cash Explosion system and are using the included Push Button Video Cash software.  You would simply add the statement to the “autoresponder section” within Step 4 (for anyone who already owns this system).

After going through my latest educational series I was feeling like maybe something was missing.  I went back through everything and thought, no, I have laid everything out for people to go out and start making some money on the Internet.  It has been bugging me all week though, I just can get it out of my head that there may be a “roadblock” that will stop some people… then it hit me!

I hope you have had a very productive couple of weeks and you have had the chance to build your website utilizing your chosen keyword phrases. 

We have come a long way in this lesson series.  We have:

• found amazing keyword phrases,
• chosen a niche,
• picked a product (or products) to promote,
• chosen a domain name and
• built a website around our chosen keyword phrases

Your website is complete… you have done everything you need to do to build a solid foundation for a successful business.  Now, you get to do the fun stuff… now you are going to start promoting your website so that you can start making some money!!!

I have 4 steps that I complete for EVERY website I build to promote that site.  I also do other things from time to time to test what is out there and how other things work, but these 4 are the core promotion methods that get my sites to page 1 in Google VERY quickly and get me making money with the site fast.  I go into great detail for each of these promotional methods in my free video series the Website Traffic Surge Process so if you want more help or more clarity, make sure you grab these videos. 

The 4 things that I do for every website are:

1. Bookmark - I use Onlywire.com to bookmark my websites. This is an important first step to get your website indexed in the search engines (particularly Google) very fast, usually within 72 hours.  Onlywire does take some time to set up and get started, but once you have laid the ground work, this step is very easy to completing, taking less than 30 seconds everytime.  There is a piece of software that will complete the set-up for you and will make this original time VERY, VERY fast.  It is called Bookmarking Demon and is a great piece of software.  However, I do still use Onlywire because it accomplished what I need it to for free.  So this comes down to a personal choice for you.  

2. Link Exchange - I complete link exchanges for each and every one of my websites.  However, I don’t complete direct exchanges.  Instead, I complete 3-way link exchanges so that the search engines don’t see the sites as simply swapping sites.  Rather, the links appear to be 1-way links and therefore carry more weight in the search engines, giving you more love :)  I use the 3-Way Links service to complete this. 

3. Write and Spin Articles - After you have bookmarked your site and while you are waiting for Google to index your site so you can use 3 Way Links, you can begin writing an article for your site.  Or, the easier way would be to purchase some PLR articles relating to your site :)  Once you have an article you will need to “spin” it or rewrite it many times so that you have numerous unique versions.  In order for each version to be unique you really should rewrite at least 30% of the article… if not more :)  You can do this by hand and it takes anywhere from 45 minutes - 2 hours depending on how fast you are.  I did it this way for years and didn’t get as many articles submitted as I should have because it took so long and was so monotonous :(  Then I discovered The Best Spinner and now it takes me about 10 - 15 minutes per article to complete a 45% or higher spin rate and I subsequently write/rewrite a lot more articles :)   

4 - Submit Articles - The last of the core promotional methods I use is really just an extension of the third one above :)  After I have spun my article or prepared it for spinning, I then submit my article.  You want to make sure you submit your article to the top article directories, such as ezinearticles.com and also one version on your own website.  However, to get full effect from every article you write/rewrite you will want to make sure and get your article on as many different websites, all unique of course, as you can… or at least on 30 - 50 websites.  That way you will have 30 - 50 more links pointing to your website!  But in addition to that, you have 30 - 50 1-way links… these are the type of links that the search engines LOVE and that love is passed directly to your website!!!  Again, you can do this manually, though I do not recommend it or you can use a service that will do it for you.  I am currently using 1 Way Links and the reason I love this service is that you get 3 links in each article you submit.  That gives you 90 - 150 links for each article!!!  On top of that, since you get to scatter your links throughout the article it now appears more natural to the search engines than a bio box only at the end of an article looks.  Wow… so, 1Way Links submitts articles for you, gives you 3 links in each article and the search engines love the articles because there are links within the body of the article… doesn’t get much better than that :) 

There you have it… that is what I do to promote each and every one of my websites!  Remember, you can get more details, more clarity, and full video explanation by grabbing your copy of the Website Traffic Surge Process for free… so make sure you do that!  Also, ALWAYS remember that anytime you are promoting your website… every link that points to your website, MUST INCLUDE your chosen keyword phrases, one at time of course :)  But, always, always, always remember to include one phrase for each link that points to your website!!!

You now have everything you need to develop a successful internet business.  Do the work, stick to it!!!  Don’t jump around, don’t dabble for a few days or here and there.  Read all these posts, get my Website Traffic Surge Process video series if you don’t have it already and become the energizer bunny… keep going and going and going and going.  It isn’t about how much you do at one time, it is about being consistent!!!

We are currently in the middle of an example marketing idea to build your business and this week we are going to discuss how to incorporate your chosen keyword phrases into your website.  No matter what kind of website you are building… Wordpress, Review Site, Retail Site, whatever… you need to incorporate your keyword phrases in the same way for each of these!  Let’s get started

You basically have 3 sections to a webpage… the header, main body and footer sections.  You need to make sure your chosen keyword phrase(s) for each individual page on your site are in each of these sections.  We will talk about each section briefly and how you need to incorporate the keyword phrases.

Section 1 - Header

This is the section between the <head></head> tags on your webpage.  You will want to make sure your keyword phrase(s) are incorporated into 3 tags within this section. 

First, the <title></title> tag… So you could have <title>Tennis Coaching Videos - Learn Tennis For Beginner</title> Or something similar… just make sure you are incorporating all of your chosen phrases here. 

Second, the keyword section… you can simply copy your title and then add a few other phrases if you like. 

Last the description section… You will want to make sure that your main keyword phrase is worked into this section.  You want to make sure that you are creating a short description about your webpage (1, maybe 2 sentences) and that within that, you incorporate your keyword phrase into that as well. For example… Learn how tennis coaching videos can help you learn the game, improve your game and have more fun playing tennis.

Section 2 - Main Body

This is the section that makes up the main portion of what your visitors see when they are on your page.  So with this section you need to make sure that when you place your keyword phrase somewhere it isn’t just shoved into a sentence.  Purposely make sure you are incorporating your keyword phrase(s) in a natural flowing, a natural speaking manner so that when your visitors read that sentence they just go through it without even realizing they just read your keyword phrase.  VERY, VERY important that you make this section completely natural. 

Also within this section you will usually have an image or two.  For each image, you need to add an alt tag that includes your keyword phrase.  If you have only 1 image, make sure that you incorporate your main keyword phrase into the alt tag.  If you have more than one, you can also incorporate other phrases.  Here is an example on how to incorporate this into your site… <img src=http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/Image.jpg alt=”KEYWORDPHRASE”> 

Section 3 - Footer

This last section on your site is still within the body of your website .  This is the section where you place your copyright information, links to your privacy policy and disclaimer pages, etc.  Within this, you will want to add your keyword phrases just like you did in the <title></title> tags.  Simply make it so that your phrases are within this section, as part of the section. 

That’s it… that is how you add your keyword phrases to your webpage!  Make sure you do this for each page within your website.  For each page, you need to choose keyword phrases and properly incorporate those phrases onto the page.  If you want to get even more details on this, more specific, with video showing exactly how to do this… make sure you watch the videos within the Website Traffic Surge Process: How to get free traffic to website

In the last couple of weeks we have covered how to properly pick a niche, how to pick a product to promote and MOST importantly, how to complete keyword research to help with these things.  This week we are going to use that keyword research again while purchasing domain names. 

Yes, keyword research is also very important to have completed before you purchase your domain name because if you can get your top tier or number 1 keyword phrase in the domain name itself you are jumping even that much further ahead of your competition.  Keep in mind that while having the keyword phrase in the domain name does help, it will not break you or make your site a failure if you don’t, so don’t stress out if you already have an established site.  Leave the established site alone, simply changing the pages themselves to reflect the keyword phrases (we’ll discuss how to do this in great detail next week) is all you need to do because established sites are always more important that recently purchased sites.

However, if you are purchasing domain names here is what you should be doing:

1. Pick your top tier keyword phrase - we chose “tennis coaching videos”
2. Go to a domain registrar, such as 1and1.com or any other registrar
3. Search for your domain using your keyword phrase and .com
4. If name is available, grab it fast!
5. If not, then add to the phrase and check again.  For example, tenniscoachingvideos.com is taken, so I might look up tenniscoachingvideosonline.com, gettenniscoachingvideos.com, watchtenniscoachingvideos.com, etc.  For this example, tenniscoachingvideosonline.com is available, so that would be a greate domain name to choose :) 

A couple of things to keep in mind when choosing a domain name are:

1. ALWAYS make sure that your top tier keyword phrase is within the domain name EXACTLY how you want it.  So for “tennis coaching videos” it needs to be that exact order.   You don’t want to purchase, videosfortenniscoaching.com.  Yes, the words are still there, BUT the EXACT order is what is important.  You can have other words around it, but keep the phrase itself intact.
2. As often as possible, choose .com domains, they are easier to rank with.  .net and .info are good too, but .com is best when you can get it.

Last week we discussed how to find a niche market… the steps you need to take.  Now this week, I would like to talk about how to find a product(s) to promote. 

First, let’s go back to the niche that was chosen, which is tennis.  At the end of the post last week I said we needed to complete some PROPER keyword research by following what I talk about in The Website Traffic Surge Process videos.  After doing so, I came up with some amazing keyword phrases.  I have decided to take you down the path of “finding a product” to promote.  In other words, an affiliate product.

So, an affiliate review type site rather than Adsense or retail products.  However keep in mind that promoting for these other types of sites would be the same, we would simply choose different keyword phrases within the niche and also build the site differently.  So, if you prefer Adsense or retail products you should still follow this series because you will gain VALUABLE marketing information no matter what kind of site you have!

After completing a lot of research, or more accurately, allowing Push Button Keywords to complete the research for me… I narrowed down my results to the following:

Let me start by saying that every single one of these phrases is a good one to promote… EVERY One!  They all have enough traffic to make it worth it.  They all have a nice small number for “On-Page” results… except “how to play tennis for beginners”, but we’ll discuss why that one is still good in a minute :) 

When we have narrowed down our search to about 10 or less keyword phrase possibilities we want to see what our product possibilities are before making a final decision on the phrases we want to use.  For this example we will use Clickbank.com.  Here are the steps to take:

1. Go to www.Clickbank.com
2. Along the top of the page, click on the small gray link titled “Marketplace”
3. Along the left side, scroll down and find “Sports”
4. Again, along the left side, scroll down and within Sports, click on the sub-heading of “Racket Sports”

With the niche that we have chosen for this example, Tennis, we have lucked out a bit :)  The first product available is a product that sells beginner tennis instructional videos.  We would examine this product, make sure that it is good… has a great sales page (even a novice can tell just by looking), looks good, feels good, has a clear, concise call to action, etc.  The beginner tennis instructional videos do an amazing job with this.  You may even want to purchase the product yourself, or at least ask for a promotional copy, so you can accurately judge whether this is a great product or not.  For this example, we are going to assume that this is a great product to promote based on what we can see.

Since we have found a great product to promote, let’s now go back to our short list of possible keyword phrases and choose which ones we will use with EVERY facet from here on out for this business.  Like I said before, any of these keyword phrases would be great, but based on the product chosen… I would choose “tennis coaching videos” as the main keyword phrase and “tennis for beginner” as my second choice. 

I believe the choice for the main phrase is a no brainer based on the product chosen.  However, the reason I am picking the second one is something that may surprise you… it actually is NOT because of the volume compared to a couple of others, but rather the fact that there are ONLY just over 500 On-Page results and ONLY 4 Off-Page results making this phrase very easy to rank for! 

Remember, On-Page and Off-Page results are ALWAYS more important than volume… but if volume matches nicely like this one, yay! 

Now that we have a product and know what are keyword phrases are, our next task will be to choose a domain name

I am going to shift focus on this blog for a little bit and start teaching you the best way I know how to go about building a successful business in a step-by-step format :) 

This week we are going to discuss how to pick a niche to build your business around!

First off… what is a niche?

The niche is the general market in which your product or service is in.  For example, if you have a product called “How to loose 10 pounds in 10 days” your general niche would be “health and fitness”  you would then drill down that niche to “diet and weight loss” getting even more specific you would say the niche is “fast weight loss”

We start at the top with very general niche categories and then drill down to ultimately discover the perfect specific niche and then the perfect products/services to promote (which we will discuss next week).   

And to do this what do we start with???

I’ll give you a big hint… NOTHING is more important for your business

That’s right… we start with keyword research!

Well, that doesn’t have to be entirely true :)  To make this easier, what we can do is pick a general niche by going to a directory online and look at the broad general categories available there.  The reason we want to do this (rather than simply pick a niche from thin air) is because we want to make sure we are only targeting profitable niches.  By looking at the types of sites and products that are available we know that the more common a type of site is, the more profitable the niche is.  So we want things that are already out there, niches that are already making money for others and then we will simply target that niche differently so that you get your piece of the market share

For example, you could go to a directory such as www.bestoftheweb.com and look at only the top categories and think about what you want to focus your business around.  Let’s for example pick “sports.” Clicking on the top category level of “sports” will take us to a page that lists various sub-niches within the blanketed sports niche.  This sub-niche is where you are going to pick your “general” niche from.  Lets pick “tennis” for our example that we will use throughout these weekly lessons. 

This is where you will now start completing some keyword research to find perfect keyword phrases within this niche.  I want you to follow Step 1 in The Website Traffic Surge Process to discover your perfect keyword phrases this week.  Depending on whether you choose to complete this manually or with software, the process will take you between an hour and about 15 hours of work.  Either method works, so choose one or the other and start your keyword research today! 

Make sure you start with the general niche.  In our example, we are using “tennis.”  We will complete this search first, from here, we will also want to complete searches on things such as ”tennis lessons” , “womens tennis” , “play tennis” , “tennis accessories” , “tennis gear” , “tennis equipment” and “tennis racket”  These are all only examples, but are based on the fact that within the general “tennis” niche, each of these have a lot of searches each month, so we want to drill down to discover which market within “tennis” you are going to ultimately build your business around.

I am constantly stressing keyword research and how important it is to your business!  Unless you already have a list of at least 10,000 people that love you and will buy from you time and time and time again or you are partnering up with an amazing JV partner that has that list… keyword research is more important than ANYTHING else you will do for your business!!!

Yes, that is a bold statement and YES I absolutely stand by it!!!

Lets start at the beginning…

Picking a niche that will be “easy” for you to make money in is hard to do, but if you complete some keyword research you can find out just how hard or easy a niche is going to be to rank high in the search engines with.  You can pick the niche first and then find keywords that match… that works too, but finding amazing keyword phrases then picking the products you are going to sell is actually a lot easier!

You can then choose a domain name based on the product or niche you are promoting, but by completing keyword research first and then using the perfect phrases you have found and then picking a domain name based on that will help you tremdously in the search engines.

Now we move onto building the website.  You can build a website without keyword phrases… without using any within the site.  You can build a website without properly incorporating keyword phrases into the site.  But you sure are leaving a lot on the table by doing that! 

It is estimated that when it comes to ranking within the search engines, 40% of the determining factors come from “On-Page” promotion… in other words, how you use your keyword phrases within your website itself.  Yes, I said 40%!!!  That is huge and you should not take it lightly!!!  You must complete keyword research and then incorporate your “perfect” keyword phrases into the webpage for every page on your site.  And you MUST incorporate them properly!

Now that you have all of that work done, you can start promoting your website.  However, you cannot promote your website in any way until you have your proper keywords… It is that simple!  If you do you will be wasting your time because you are not getting the full advantages out of any promotional efforts if you are not promoting the proper keywords.  Basically, if you are promoting your website with the wrong keyword phrases then you are wasting your time. 

I’m sorry to be so blunt, but you MUST get this!

I have received a few questions over the last 24 hours, but the one I have received the most is “how is Push Button Keywords different from what is already available within Push Button Video Cash” for my Video Cash Explosion system?  That is a great question… especially since many of you already own the Video Cash Explosion system!

For anyone that doesn’t own my Video Cash Explosion system… within that I provide a software titled Push Button Video Cash that creates video review sites and within that software there is a keyword tool that helps people find keyword phrases for their sites. 

The keyword tool within Push Button Video Cash and Push Button Keywords are similar in that they both:

1. Use Google’s information to discover keyword phrases
2. Complete the “On-Page” search (in Push Button Video Cash it is called “websites”) and
3. Can export your keyword lists.
